Inverness Symphony Orchestra (formerly The Ness Sinfonia) is now in its tenth year, having been founded in 2016 by Sue Lightman. The orchestra has grown considerably over this time and we thank all those who have supported us. Since 2017, Robin Versteeg has been ISO’s energetic and ambitious musical director, and we continue to be indebted to our talented leader, Mark Osborne. ISO has developed a reputation for its exciting and thought-provoking programmes, incorporating many milestones of the symphony orchestra repertoire in addition to lesser-known works.
The orchestra meets in Inverness on Monday evenings, 7:00pm-9:30pm with a tea-break halfway through. There are no auditions and new members will be warmly welcomed. We currently have a full woodwind section, but any interested brass, percussion and string players are encouraged to get in touch by email at contactus@inso.org.uk or via the website.
The Inverness Symphony Orchestra are proudly sponsored by Mr and Mrs Chima, Makar Limited, Wester Blackpark Farm and Craig Wood Solicitors and all the members would like to thank them for their support.
Thanks to Sanjay Das for the recent photography at Inverness Cathedral which is used throughout the website – Sanjay Das Photography
